Desperately Seeking Peace

Won second place!

Long story short, Dia had lost her everything. While she had stayed young and energetic, her best friend had slowly become older and eventually withered away. Now she was alone, and she wanted to know why her best friend was gone. She wanted to be able to find her. And she desperately wanted not to be alone.

Entry for the Quirlicorn Winter Solstice Show '14. Here we see The Day Left Behind, using some wind powers she hasn't unlocked yet to float above the snowy mountains (I really hope this is right for the Air region o-o). So she's dreaming, right? xD
Dia has a really sad story- much as I'm looking forward to start on it, I honestly feel kind of depressed just thinking about it. The poor girl really lost everything she had- but maybe-just maybe- she'll be able to find some new family.

This was ridiculously hard to draw, that tail was like the bane of my existence
But I am so happy with the effort I put into it!
It's the first time I've sketched in earnest, her rainbow took me quite the long time, and I just love the shading. Still working up my courage for highlights, people xD
I love Dia so much. The poor, lovely, baby <3
